The ‘Zaar’ and Belly Dancing Classes – Monthly on the Full Moon – coming back in Spring 2021
The ‘Zaar’ and Belly Dancing Classes
Belly dancing – originally a form of dancing for women’s health and wellbeing, but class is open to all.
Each Month on the Full Moon (or close by) Alia comes from Melbourne city to share her love, skills and knowledge about the ancient art of Zaar and Belly Dancing.
This class is so informative of the history of the ‘Zaar’ and ‘Belly Dancing’ that you’ll be wanting to come back for more. We are learning so much each month, and having so much fun doing it.
The usual layout for the class is –
1:00 – 1:20
– will be a short briefing on the class, as well as a recap on the Zaar and quick history for those who didn’t attend the last class, then we will perform The Zaar
1:20 – 1:30
– short water break and changeover/
admin
1:30 – 2:30 Belly dancing – we learn new steps each month
The date for the following month is usually selected on this date.
This is my reflection upon last months class –
Such a great class, thank you Alia.
We’ve just finished our first class of belly dancing, I’m rather gob smacked at the benefits to women’s health and well being through this practise.
It’s said to cure headaches, pre-menstrual tension, healing through the things coming up for you around the full moon, and modern science analysis show’s that it released a ‘chemical cascade’ from the brain of hormones, endorphins (including the recently discovered Canabanoids) and induces a deep relaxed state and feeling of well-being.
I must say I feel calmer within myself, it’s practices like this that I encourage people to do in this modern busy world to bring them into their heart
Alia went through lots of history about the dance and we all really enjoyed the class
